I rented a truck to move across country and the truck leaked, soaking my mattress set and a painting.I provided current quotes from the manufacturer and photos of the items damaged and the truck.

After four weeks of email exchanges and providing lengthy documentation, I was told that my painting "didn't seem damaged enough." It is a $129 painting with water damage but the claims investigator, Darla Hampton, stated that if she can't see the damage through a photo then its fine.

This goes against standard insurance practice as it doesn't account for future damage due to blistering, peeling, or rot.I was informed that my only recourse was to have the painting appraised by an art dealer (typically this cost +$250).
