I just kind of smile and feel kind of sad about all the complaints I have read about the GB adjuster. You see I am one of them.

Bottom line the system GB has set up for us causes TOO much unnecessary work to do. Yes I am guilty of not returning phone calls even when you have called me several times. Yes I am guilty of taking way too long to pay you. Yes I am guilty of everything that has been accused of us, but it is not by choice.

We are so busy taking care of infrastructure *** like projects that has to been done TODAY, or reports that has to be done TODAY or appeasing a whiny supervisor and their needs that has to be done TODAY, that the real claims work which is taking care of the employees and their claim take a back seat way, way in the back. Many of us work 12 hour days, weekends and work a home and still behind in our work.

And to add insult to injury, GB do not pay their employees a decent wage, thus alot of turnovers and difficulty replacing people because those who know better avoid this place like the plague. Those who know better but here, unfortunately are unable to find better employment.

Monetary Loss: $10.

Location: New York, New York

15 days. Thats how long it took our adjuster to answer the lawyers calls when after a year of receiving my husbands WC check weekly just stopped for no reason...

Its against the law to stop payment without notification... but ya do it anyway... why?! 15 days.

I am sorry that you are so overwhelmed at your job...

But we are overwhelmed that not only has this injury forever changed our life - my husband will never regain use of his arm- and part of that is because we couldn't get your company to respond in a timely manner to get him to a specialist... Making his injury worse and our only hope is a surgery that may not even give him back 50% movement. We don't get answers from Gallagher Basset.

We don't get payment from them in a timely manner (our check comes from an office 35 miles from our home... yet it takes 10 days to arrive after its marked issued on the claim site) We have lost our home, went into debt trying to stay afloat... and our lives are in chaos... I don't care why your reason is for not returning a call for 15 days...

its shameful.

I don't understand how a company like yours is still in business. I would be ashamed to work in such a place.

I can not feel sorry for any one who works for such a morally corrupt company. You have to answer for your downfalls of the job, "What they made you do". Get a real job that don't hurt people.

I can sympathize but, deliberately lying to a client or letting it sit on a desk for 4 to 5 weeks is inexcusable. This is the only life line many folks have and regardless of the work circumstance, must be considered.

I don't always feel my boss is fair or some days hate my job, but that is not the customers fault.

Christina Garnica is the Worst adjuster that GB has. She has a personal vendetta against her clients and takes great joy in not paying us what is justly and rightly due us.

I would have to argue you with that. My adjuster thrives on screwing people.

She does it with a laugh. Or, maybe they are all bad.

We don't believe our adjuster is a real person. I think shes make believe.

I see her name on things, and our lawyer swears she spoke to her... but I don't believe it. She's awful.

Can't fax either... Took her 4 weeks to fax over information to a doctors office...mind you she did it 3 different times, but each time only sent half of the paperwork.

I can't even find out who my adjuster is. These idiots have ruined my life.

Their lawyer that shows up at the hearings is just stalling. I feel so sorry for everyone dealing with them.

I am five years into my case and getting nowhere fast. I hope Karma bites everyone of the Galagher Bassett Bastards in the ***.

I am also an adjuster at GB. I would tend to agree with these other adjusters.

The amount of things an adjuster has to handle on a daily basis is overwhelming at almost any TPA or Insurance company. The pure beurocracy of the job gets in the way of serving both the client AND the injured worker.

I would say that I spend at least 50 percent of my time explaining myself to the client and broker just to get authority to perform required tasks in handling claim files. Over the past 10 years, handling work comp claims in California has become incredibly complicated.

Waaaa! I don't believe you.

My adjuster stalls every corner. Agrees to do something and doesn't pay.

they wait you out and bring you down. Get a life and a job that you won't have to answer questions at the pearly gate before getting sent away.

You're damned right I would hire an attorney. I have.

And a good one too!

And when we get done with GB they will pay my lawyer! That's what my state allows.

I was injured on the job in Sept.2011,they messed around for 2 months, then all of a sudden they said I need surgery. So I had surgery and now it's the middle of Feb.2012 and my shoulder has not improved but has actually got worse, but the Dr.acts like no big deal,I'm in so much pain it's killing me! Can anyone give me some advice,I live in Texas but work in Oklahoma ,should I get a lawyer? I like my job and the money is excellent but I don't want to make my company mad. What do I do??

Yes, I must agree with Helpme who is an Adjuster at GB! I was an Adjuster there to, but was lucky enough to escape the place.

At one time GB was a good company and treated all with respect and employees's were happy and had time to do their real job in servicing claims and the injured worker and the employer's, but then things changed several years back and more so since late 2010. I too was guilty of what helpme has stated they are guilty of, but I know it is hard not to blame the Adjuster if you are an injured worker or employer if it seems calls are not being returned or questions are not getting answered, but please do not blame the adjusters as they are doing the best with what they are given. Don't complain about the adjuster, it's the system in place and the duplicate work adjusters must do to appease others in the organization. Adjusters must have reports completed for many different people and it is too bad because probably half of the reports do not get read, but you need to complete them for the times they do get read.

If a sytem was put in place and not require an adjuster to just be doing busy work/reports/putting in every little detail of things which is all required and just let them do thier jobs the clients and injured workers would be more happy, which would mean more business due to word of mouth referrals going on, but that is too complex for some to comprehend as they are too out of touch. Also, it seems some people have to justify their existance/job/salary and put undue requirements/stress on others to make it seem like they are doing something.

I say have the ones who make the requirements go sit in an adjusters desk for a week in this day and age and see how it is...oh yes, some of them say they were in an adjusters shoes before, but that was in the good old days of adjusting claims, but some have not and those are the ones who would be in for a real eye opening experience. Oh and yes raises would be nice instead of you're lucky to have a job in this economy.

Wouldn't you be a little annoying while in a place of business, not knowing of damp carpet (because of a mechanical ongoing common area water leak never corrected over a period of 18 months prior complaints-till State Health Dept is called and corrected in 24 hrs of slip and fall) and walking first step on to ceramic tile and your feet go out from under you and falling face down causing several head damages, bleeding/stitches, broken eye glasses, broke/damaged/cracked dentures etc at an age of 63 on disability only to find out that no medical bills where every paid and its been over 3 years??? Ruining your credit!!

Not One Responsible Person Has The Gutts To Speak Up Respectfully!!!!!!!! And handle matters responsibly in a timely manner.........Hello! This is the United States of America!!! RIGHT?????????

woundn't you hire and ATTORNEY? why or Why Not?.....
